What’s in Albuquerque? That’s what everybody was asking me in response to “I’m going to NM for the weekend.” Well, the initial plan was to visit a couple of national parks, but with the government shutdown, we changed our plans. We almost cancelled the trip, but luckily my friends from work told me about the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. It’s an annual event that takes place during 10 days in October and it just happened that the Sat. and Sun. we were planning to be in NM were the last days of the Fiesta. Over 500 hot air balloons in one place – sign me up!
