Looking back at 2025, it feels like the year we never stopped moving. From weekend escapes to long‑haul adventures, from tropical beaches to European winter markets, and even a couple of home renovation projects squeezed in between — this year was full, fast, and unforgettable. Here’s our travel‑filled year, one destination at a time.

We kicked off the year with another winter beach escapade for my birthday.

In February around E’s birthday and in May, we did a weekend Vegas trip – fast, fun, and full of great meals and bright lights, they were the perfect mini‑breaks between bigger adventures.

Early March we had a friends’ getaway to Temecula, soaking in vineyard views, good food, and even better company.

Spring break took us back to Maui, where warm breezes, snorkeling, and island sunsets reminded us why it’s one of our favorite places on Earth.

For Mother’s day, I wanted a picture with S.

Also in May, the tenants from our rental condo moved out so we took the chance to make some updates, we changed the flooring and remodeled one of the bathrooms.

At the end of May, we celebrated our kinder graduate.

Summer was the season of long flights and new cultures. We spent part of our summer break exploring the Philippines, with a stop in Japan — two completely different worlds, both unforgettable in their own ways. Here’s the detailed post.

At the end of July, we squeezed in a sunny trip to Daytona Beach, trading ramen and tropical islands for classic American beach vibes. Here’s the detailed post.

Right before school started, we took a day trip to Catalina Island — the perfect little escape close to home. A submarine boat tour, quick lunch and ocean kayaking did the trick.

In early September, we headed north to Washington State, trading tropical beaches for forests, waterfalls, and crisp mountain air. Here’s the detailed post.

In October, I had a week long work trip in San Jose, so E & S joined me on Thursday evening for a trip to Napa with my team. After which, we spent a weekend in San Francisco, wandering the hills, eating well, and enjoying the city’s energy.

Back home, we tackled a major project: remodeling our kitchen. When one of the kitchen drawers broke again after we fixed it twice, we said “That’s it!” and demoed the entire kitchen to the studs. Dust everywhere, decisions everywhere — but worth it.

To get away from the never ending remodeling days, we went to Fallbrooks for a weekend in the wine country with our friends.

We were done just in time for Halloween celebrations, one of S’s favorite holidays.

In November, after working hard on the kitchen remodel, we needed a relaxing break. We returned to Maui for Thanksgiving break, proving that some traditions are worth repeating. Warm weather, ocean time, and a break from everyday life — exactly what November needed.

We celebrated S’s birthday at RGB run with some of his friends and for his actual birthday went to a Christmas lights show at Wild Rivers.

We ended the year with our most ambitious winter break yet: • New York for city lights and holiday magic • Switzerland for mountains, snow, and postcard‑perfect scenery • Portugal for charming towns, great food, and a beautiful slow finish to the year. Here’s the detailed post.

It was the perfect finale to a year packed with movement. 2025 was a year of planes, passports, projects, and people we love. We explored new places, revisited old favorites, and made memories in every season. If 2026 brings even half as much adventure, we’ll consider ourselves lucky.
