It’s set between two mountain ranges. It’s flat. There are no trees, no birds, no animals, no insects, no people around. Absolute silence. That’s how it felt in the middle of Badwater Basin Salt Flats. October was such a great time to visit Death Valley. It’s a relatively short drive from LA so it’s perfect for a quick weekend trip. Two days was enough time to see most of the spots on the list: Badwater Basin Salt Flats at sunrise (lowest elevation in N. America), Devil’s Golf Course, Mesquite Sand Dunes at sunset, Zabriskie point at sunrise, Dante’s view and Scotty’s Castle.
Some day I would really like to go back and camp at the Racetrack Playa to take some night shots.
