By the time we got to Penang, I was almost 3 weeks into the trip. Honestly, I was ready to go home, but the Equatorial Hotel in Penang felt like a resort which made me feel like I was on vacation again 🙂 We managed to get out of the office earlier on both days so we could try a local restaurant one evening and check out Georgetown on the second day.

Our coworkers from KL recommended a restaurant on top of a hill in Penang. We made a reservation ahead of time, only to go there and find out that we were the only ones in the whole restaurant! They must’ve had a good laugh when we called to make the reservation, haha. The place needed a serious renovation but the view was amazing and the food was pretty good too.

The next day after work we wondered the streets of Georgetown. It was fun discovering all kinds of street art in the narrow alleys of the old town. There were just too many pictures so I combined them all below. I was impressed by the size of this fiddle leaf fig tree. I love these plants, but I know they can be pretty demanding and sensitive house plants.

In the evening we had an amazing seafood dinner buffet at the hotel!

Mmm, I still dream about this dinner :)

That dinner was a great end to a productive but very long trip.
