On the way to the park, we stopped at the Cascades Farms stand to try some fresh blueberries. They were the most flavorful, sweet and crisp blueberries I’ve ever had. I might never be able to eat the blueberries from Costco or Trader Joe’s 🙂
The road through the park is pretty short. They don’t even charge an entrance fee. Compared to Mt. Rainier, this park was not crowded at all. We were on our own on the Thunder Woods Nature trail, a loop of about 2 miles that goes through a forest covered in moss that looks like green carpeting on the ground.
Because we were done with the park relatively quickly, we had some time to go to Mt. Baker, which a popular ski area in wintertime and a pretty sight in the summer. Picture Lake is a nice spot to get the reflection of the mountain in the water.
