It’s America’s most visited national park. However, after seeing Glacier NP in the summer and Rocky Mountain NP in the fall, Great Smokey Mountains in early spring did not impress. There was just too much gray. I’m sure it’s gorgeous later in the year.

– Cades Cove is an 11 mi one-way loop drive where you can see historic farms and churches.

– Laurel Falls trail is the most popular hike in the park (2.6 mi roundtrip).

– Clingmans Dome hike. It’s only 1 mi roundtrip, but it’s steep! It’s the highest point in the park with a dome at the top similar to the one we saw in Everglades NP. Nice views from the top.
